Problems with Dense Sound/Music Files for "Turok - Evolution"
I've recently gotten Turok - Evolution working without the CD, but in order to keep it at a reasonable size - as in 188MB versus 1.34GB - I've had to not only rip the videos, which isn't a problem, but also the sound/music (both are kept in the same file). The sound being ripped is an issue because it contains voices which are necessary to understand how to complete certain objectives - and the game has no subtitles available!
What's worse, the individual sound/music files (they use the .tre file extension, presumably yet another proprietary format) are about 150MB individually and are extremely non-compressible, as I can only get them compressed to, at best, 98% of their original size. If someone could help me with this conundrum, I'd greatly appreciate it! |
I'll see if there's anything I can do, but have to clean some HDD space first (stuck with this laptop's lousy 40 GB internal drive and down to 1 GB space)
