Weird GPU problems

Hi again.

There is this Dell Inspiron 13 with a GPU that's giving problems. It reports 75 degrees C when it's idle and 100 degrees C when in use. It also seems to forget how to change clock speeds.

The CPU doesn't report any high temperatures, and the laptop's fan is working.

What do?

If I want some answer to my question, I'd post at least the specs of my system and don't let other ppl do the work to google that for me...

anyways. I can't tell much about that GPU in this laptop. I just know this very same bug from some ATI cards when you manually switch clock- and/or fan-speeds. The only "solution" for this ATI bug is a reset.

But as it is summer and I dunno if you live in a place with over 100°F, I'd suggest using a cooling pad for that laptop.

I take what I can get. :P It wasn't urgent.

Thanks for your suggestions.

well, 100°C is nothing special @ GPU's. as long as you don't have any CTD's you should be fine. the reason I suggested a cooling pad is the longevity. it kinda sux if you have to buy a new laptop because the gpu died. happend to an acquaintance of me some months ago...
