Recommendations for puzzle/adventure games?
Hey! I'm looking for some recommendations for other games similar to what I've played. Here are some games I absolutely love:
Monkey Island (old and remakes) Pepper's Adventures in Time EcoQuest Commander Keen (4 specifically) Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? (I haven't tried the others yet) Island of Dr. Brain Castle of Dr. Brain Incredible Machine Gobliiins That's all I've got! See? I'm in need of help! |
You could look through the Sierra Quest games, they are a bit more serious than the Lucasarts ones. You could also try Flight of the Amazon Queen, Fate of Atlantis and perhaps Innocent Until Caught. If you look them up on this site you can follow the recommended games to see other games we would recommend if we weren't so damn lazy.

You should definitely try the Legend of Kyrandia trilogy.

Good call Tracker.

Games in my short list (after what you are already named, and Kyrandia too, and some - not all - Sierra for me):
Myst series. Grim Fandango (actually, any LucasArts adventure will do - they are all great for me). DeathGate and all other adventures from Legend. Text ones (like Spellcasting or Gateworld) can be somewhat tricky, though, but "mouse" ones are great. Longest Journey series. Blade Runner and Last Express. Totally different in gameplay, but very similar for me in "puzzling" design - it's not possible to see everything in one run! Hmm, I think, that's all for me... ...Ah, wait, there is also Simon the Sorcerer series! Now that's all. :) |
You might also want to try out Loom, this one is also not bad, if perhaps a bit more complicated to get to run (at least from my experience). But that's why here's a forum for that :)
Also Dare to Dream is interesting, even if less known than it's more famous contemporaries mentioned above. |
Fantastic! Thanks for the recommendations, I am downloading as we speak ^_^ Good timing too, I just finished Jolly Rover and need a new fix :hihihi:

Another great one is Eric the Unready. It's a Monthy Python-esque text 'n' graphics hybrid by Legend. And you should definitely give the Z-Machine games (text adventures) a try.

Beneath a Steel Sky is a liberated (read: legal freeware) point&click dystopian sci-fi adventure.
