You're right, that game is listed as one still sold at the 3D Realms website (they have released some games as freeware, like Bio Menace or Alien Carnage but this one isn't among them).

so, death rally is not abandonware anymore?

It isn't abandonware, it's freeware. The developer has released the game as such several years ago.
Freeware status trumps sold status.

They did? :huh: So the 3DR website has outdated info? Or do they still sell the game despite its being legally obtainable for free from elsewhere?
