Need help at installing Total Distortion

Hello everyone on Abandonia. I hope someone who reads this can help me on how to install Total Distortion with DOSBOX. So far what I tried was to mount the .cue in Deamon Tools and install it via "I:" and IMGMOUNT the .cue.
I was able too see the 1INSTALL.exe and everything else by using "dir" BUT when I write 1INSTALL.exe it becomes "win 1INSTALL.exe" and when I press enter it says "Illegal Command: win". Then I tried to start "total_dn" but I always get "This program requires Microsoft Windows". I don't know what to do now, I have no clue on what to try now.

I hope someone can help me, it makes me so mad :(:(

Well, answer is in your quiestion: This program requires Microsoft Windows.

DOS is not Windows. So no support under "pure" DOSBox.

But! "Win" signifies that it's "old" Windows. 3.x, namely. And, unlike "Win as OS" (that is Win95 and newer), "Win as shell" is quite possible under DOSBox! :)

Check this thread to find Win 3.x and it's setup for DOSBox.

Yeah, I know that DOS is not Windows, that's why it made no sense for me in the first place,

Thanks a lot for the thread. I will check it out and try it now!

Update: It works, now I will find out how to install the game :perv:

No need, we don't usually close threads.

For the next time keep in mind that if you imgmount an image in DOSBox there's no need to mount it in Windows with Daemon Tools.
