Forgotten old FPS
 

At one point in the late 90s I downloaded a demo for some FPS that I cannot find any trace of now. But I want to find it because it freaked the shit out of me and left me with these uncanny, creepy memories.

I remember that you start out as a normal human guy but can transform into a few different beast things, one of which can fly around. I think you start out in some kind of canyon or desert, and the game has a very bleak and desolate aesthetic. When you die, the doom-like little face at the bottom decays into a skull. This is the most vivid freaky memory I have from the game.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Sorry I can't provide better info.

No, it is most definitely not Shadowcaster. But thank you. I looked through the list of supposedly every DOS FPS on wikipedia but still could not find this game.

Are you sure it's FPS? Anyways, look on MobyGames; I could help on finding it but I don't remember playing such thing. Don't you remember any other detail?
EDIT: You couldn't remember about this, but do you remember at least the year it was released or even that you played it?

shapeshifting reminds me of Lands of Lore 2, but it is not that old nor do you fly around...

Could it be SDK, the futuristic fps where you wear a black high tech skin suit. Your helmet is a sniper rifle. You can fly with your suit wings. The game I always wanted to play but never did.
Lands of lore iii also has some shape shifting. I think there was an fps where you are half demon and can summon devil snakes n stuff to kill mobsters but thats early 2000s. Not dos. Funny how those old origional games can haunt you. Scare you, affect you so much.

MDK not SDK it should not be. Theres no skull. But there was one game, with a 4 barreled machine gun called a siegle, and you could take control of a hunter killer drone to fly around i think.

We just need more details, what setting was it? Medieval? Alien? Future? Past? Whaf other beasts? A tiny lizard? A soul that lets you possession of others?
