I happen to have a copy of Sierra's Betrayal in Antara, a game from 1997 that I have been attempting to run on my 2004 Dell laptop. Mostly it works, but it runs too fast - I press a key, and zoom, I rocket off across the landscape, inevitably missing my target location.

I've tried things like running it in compatibility mode for Windows 95 or 98, which has not fixed the problem. Nor has running it with VDMS. I got this application called Setspeed that's made for problems like this, but I can't figure out how to make it work - especially since it's a Windows program and can't be run from DOS mode.

The Setspeed readme file wasn't exactly helpful. How do I use it, especially on a Windows program? Is there any other way to slow down the speed of the game?

Install a lot of ads and spy clients, couple viruses and you'll computer will eventualy slow down. LOL LOL LOL

Or search on the net for moslow (if I'm not mistaken) which is designed to slow down your PC.

I have a copy somewhere at home of it, that came with PC Gamer special edition.

if all else fails you could turn off the cpu caches and underclock the cpu in the bios, i suppose.. if it lets you.
i think something like moslow or something similar would work better

I've tried Moslo - only problem is, it only works in a DOS prompt, and this game of mine doesn't run in DOS. It's a strictly windows-based game. I should have specified that, I know.

I don't know how to go about underclocking my CPU or anything. How can I do that? My computer runs Windows XP personal, if that helps.

CPUKiller has a really BAD name, but works like moslow and should be compatible to WinXP.

haha.... im hoping that the name is not related to what it does, cause im trying it out now
