Exile III - Ruined World
I kinda like this game, and I want to know if it's abandonware or not. The game is made in windows in 1997, so it's relatively new, but the interface looks very basic. The game is really fun to play. You play with a party, and the fights are turn-based.

I've got it if anyone wants me to put it up. I also have the first one as well.

Exile... now there're some games I spent months on. Too bad I only had the shareware versions, so always got stuck at some shareware barrier after a while.
They're still being sold, though. $25. Link to Exile 1's FAQ. It's in there. Check out Exile 2 and Exile 3 there too. They're probably still sold too, if Exile 1's still being sold. |
25 DOLLARS!!!???? :ranting:

I know. It's nuts.

I dont think any of the Spidweb games will become abandonware anytime in the near future. The company makes great games and is kind enough to sell them as shareware so you get a big taste of the game your about to buy. I have bough everygame they have ever made including the mac ones.

From Jeff Vogel's mouth directly (I forgot where I read it) "Even the old games like Exile 1 are still gonna be sold for quite a long long time. People play Avernum 1 and think "I wanna see the origional." and many claim the origionals are even better. So as long as they serve a nostalgia purpose rather than a "they are old, lets abandon them" purpose, they will be sold."
But ive played ALL the windows Spiderweb Software games, and I must say, they are WONDERFUL. I cannot wait for Geneforge 3 and Avernum 4 (the next to-be-released games) and c'mon. You all SHOULD try the shareware versions. Espically Blades of Avernum of Blades of Exile. The shareware version of those is an ENTIRE game. the full version lets you play 3 more games, and use user made games. BEAUTIMUS. |
I agree. The Exile-Avernum series along with the the Geneforge are my favorite rpgs. They are worth every penny. Also registering Blades Of Avernum you get an editor along with the ability to download homebrew games people have made.
