Hi guys :bye:
I've already written a nice rant about this once tonight, but I'm so indignant, I'm going to write it twice (so to those who have already read it, sorry! :( ). But nicer and shorter here. Basically, my wonderful governor, who just HAPPENS to be the baby bro of good 'ole George W. Bush, just signed a law into being which basically states that any person with a weapon has a right to shoot and KILL someone if they feel "threatened" by that person. Threatened?!?! Gah! :tai: Thoughts? Mine are currently that I want to get the hell out of the U.S. as soon as possible. :tai: :tai: :tai: |
Woo! Rednecks on a rampage! Seriously, It really sounds *meep*ed up over there. Wouldn't want to live there myself, even if my life depende... that'd actually make things worse then, going there

I'm seriously considering adding a donate button to my site for the "Help Expatriate Tai Foundation" :tai:
:D |
Now I know why they call it 'the home of the brave'...

Also I've yet to see a basic law, what does it state UNbasically? Could you give me a link to a newsstory about this because I couldn't find anything about it on CNN or other newssources, neither did I find anything on political blogs like LGF (right-wing) or Daily Kos (so violently left-wing you'd think their right-wing) |
yes. interesting law. the first time i read about it i immediatelly had a few counter arguments.
First how will they proove if someone was a threat to you? i mean especially since it all depends on your judgement. example to some people Jews and Black people are considered a threat per se. you basically they see one, brains tell them "threat", they pull out a gun and shoot. Sam would go for a boss who can fire you thus destroy your life or something like that. not to mention if you see a policeofficer or police officer in civil clothes wearing a pistol. Secondly the problem is that those that pose a threat don't even have to come into your house. imagine that someone comes to your house to collect debt. it can even be from government because you "forgot" to pay taxes. you see some men comming toward your house, you "think" they might came to rob you. BANG! BANG! they are dead, your still have the stuff and you are excused because you really thought it was a threat to your life. and i wonder how they would proove it wasn't because you might have even shoot them with a sniper rifle. so they were too far to identify themselves. but it will be most interesting to see how this will evolve. can we expect duels? you know to save the honour or something. :max: |
A feeling of threat can't be proved, nor can it be counter-proved.
The only people who know the real scenario is a ) The shooter b ) The dead guy |
I once said this and I will say it again:
it all depends on your loyer. you can basicaly start a bloodbath at the mall, and get away, by saying they were all terrorists, who obviously know some wierd martial art and could have killed you and your family with their thumbs, IF your loyer can pull it off (and belive me- with the mess that american law is, he probably can). if you're lucky you'll get a medal for this... |
