I tried to follow the hints given in the thread with the W7 install instructions, but when I want to install it, DOS-Box says

Wizardry CD-ROM Installation
Error in _dos_getdiskfree() call

what do i have to do to install it properly?

I don't remember exactly, how I did it, but the solution is very simple. You must choose install.exe, then install game on disk C, where you must also (as long as I remeber) copy game files. And only then you must run game with DOSBox from disk C with copied files.
