O.K. so I have this game and I wanna install it. When I go to setup.exe it gives me a menu and I choose "install and play". When it is installing, it gives me a @#^% message in black:

"Please insert the Diablo CD into your CD-ROM and press "O.K."

WTF do they want? :eeeeeh: The CD is IN ALREADY! I am installing it as we speak, from what do you think I'm istalling it???:eeeeeh:
What do I do???

edit:

Also note that the spawned version of it works.

Damaged / dirty CD, presumably. Clean its surface with a dry rag and see if it works then.

What do you mean by that? I only have 1 cdrom.

I cleaned the CD, but nothing. Maybe its because the game is written onto a cdrw, which has been used lots of times?

edit:

I get this message if I cancel the "putting in disk routine":

Diablo was unable to open a required file. Please ensure that the Diablo disc is in the CD-ROM drive. If this problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling Diablo using the program "SETUP.EXE" on the Diablo CD-ROM.
The Problem occured while trying to load a file
diabdat.mpq

Maybe Diablo1 was a 2 CD game?

maybe it's a copy protection kicking in ?
not all games can simply be copied.

troop18546 03-06-2005 09:49 AM

I tried to copy the UNLOADABLE file diabdat.mpq but nothing happened, I still got that message.

Do you have Diablo? Maybe your installation is different?

Well, I downloaded the game's ISO image and burned it onto a cdrw. Maybe there was an error? I dont think there can be a copy protection system of a disk like that.

try to load an iso image in to alcohol 120
...maybe you burned it wrong, happens sometimes

troop18546 03-06-2005 10:35 AM

I dont have that prog, so I burnt it with nero image recorder.
Should I try again with this one?

_r.u.s.s. 03-06-2005 10:45 AM
