Hella!

I know this sound stupid from me(Kosta and Doubler knows  ), but Metal Mutant just won run under DosBox. I start hte game, select either CGA or VGA, and after that just a black screen or DosBox simply quits...
Under XP there is no sound and the game is horribly slow...

I played MM last on my 286 GEA Laptop, so now...

Now what? HELP! :help:

try 0.61

Sebatianos 08-06-2005 07:40 AM

How come some stuff that worked in DOSBox 0.61 doesn't anymore in 0.63?

I thought it was just an upgrade (sorry for a stupid question, but I'm mostly just a user/abuser - of the programme).

I assume lot's of things change each version and the authors don't have the time to test every game there exists.

I agree with Data - you should try 0.61.

Sebastianos: I don't know why it is so, but it's all true. They probably changed something to improve the function and it ended up screwing up something else. Since the problem does occur only with some of the older titles, it is possible they just didn't test them, thinking that since the other games work, these also should.

yeah I tend to check the source of dosbox every now and then
http://cvscompile.aep-emu.de/dosbox.htm

I noticed that it has improved a lot. most games that worked in 0.61 and not in 0.63, work again.

Playbahnosh 08-06-2005 04:46 PM

So it is working with 0.63? Or what?

I'll try 0.61....

ITS WORKING!! With 0.60...

Topic closed! Thanks for all your help! :ok:

It's working with the newest sourcecode release. This is different then newest program release, since the user has to compile the program himself, but on the other hand it is more up-to-date as well.
