Mama antideli yo mbote mingi kouta Kinshasa!!

Lingala language spoken in DR Congo.

Meaning: Mum sends greetings from Kinshasa (I guess you got the first and the last word) :w00t:

It seems Lingala language can say it all in only 400 words. I have to check that information.

Watch me:

MBOTE MINGI ENTI KINSHASA EPAI YA MAMA!!!

Ta-dah :bleh:

That's amazing. I'd really be interested into studying these language.

What kind of sentance structure does it have? Does it have cases What about the number? Does it distingushes the time and the tense?

How many voels and how many consonants does the language have? How do you form complex thoughts? Do you simply coin words together to make a perfectly understandable (although sometimes extremely long) new word?

Sorry if it seems too much... I'm just bursting with curiosity at the moment - this language really got me interested.

I'll be blunt. I asked a colleague of mine to write this for me, because I wanted to impress Kosta (who is my son, by the way).

Since I got you interested :ranting: I have no other choice but to ask these questions and get back to you. On Monday, when I will again see my Congolese colleagues.

Patience is a virtue :wall:

A onda izvini, što updam u obiteljske stvari...

For everybody else: I just apologized for pushing my nose into a family affair.

It isn't personal, otherwise I could have sent the message to his personal e-mail.

Actually, you got me interested too, so I'll try to find out more about the language. For the moment I am focusing all my linguistic powers in getting to understan French that everybody speaks around here.

DR Congo used to be Belgian colony, under King Leopold II.

Stay tuned!

Your Kosta's Dad, Ines?? I always thought Romano was.

I'm a big fan of your boy. He's a very clever man. What he's done with this site is amazing, and his vision for the future is equally incredible.

Ok...I'm off-topic

Well, I would have thought she was his mum. Especially considering the message in the first post. :D

Hehehe...it all becomes clear to me now.

Meanwhile, back to the Congo and Lingala...looks Greek to me...or Italian.
