OK, with my new internet connection (Plus.net) I got the free BT Voyager 205 modem/router piece of muck. Having lots of problems with several applications, and the port forwarding sometimes working, mostly not.
To make it a very short question, Is there any way to disable the router part of the router/modem so that it only works as a modem (as my old but trustworthy alcatel speedtouch)?
:help:

Well... if that's what you want, you should just set it to allow everything, always....
Do it at your own risk thou.

Yes, but how? I (not right now since it didn't work) disabled the built in firewall, I put in the DMZ the static (manualy set thanks to portforward.com) IP of the computer, I placed forwarding ports, I have no idea what to do next. If I could manualy unscrew something from the thing to physicaly remove it and make it just a modem I would, but I don't think it will work.
BTW, I am almost ignorant for networking so if there is a switch somewhere in the settings that is named say "JWE342MXS on/off" and means router part on/off then I wouldn't know. :wall: Frustrating.

Can't you just under allwed ports set IP/port: *.*.*.*:* Application: * (all)?

Atleast i have the option to do that if i wanted to.

I tried that with virtual server or whatever the option is called, but the router doesn't care what options it have, it doesn't want me to play the games so it will not allow me to. :ranting:

I sent an email earlier today to the support team of Plus.net and I just checked my email and there seems to be some progress. I asked them if it is possible to return the modem and get a plain adsl modem instead. Apparently he (the support guy) has forwarded my email to some other members adding the question if they can get an RMA for my router/modem. It would be nice if they work this and just give me a plain simple adsl modem say like the old alcatel speedtouch.

I am sorry for repeating myself but I just want so much to play some games online after all this time and ....

At least online radio works.

You'll need to open both incoming and outgoing ports, but I confess i've never managed to get my copy of WinRoute going quite how I wanted it for games.
