For some reason -something- decided to block all cookies on my PC :eeeeeh:
Symptoms:
-Error messages on multiple sites
-Not being able to get into e-mail account
-not being automaticly logged into Abandonia
-Having to (manually) log in multiple times before being logged in
-Shoutbox not working ("Cookies deactivated?")
-MSN not storing conversations (as I've instructed it to do)
-Virusscanner no longer functional (as it tries to write something to my cookie folder uppon startup)

There are propably more things wrong, but I guess ignorance is bliss for now.

I've checked my browser settings but nothing is wrong, and I don't use a firewall. :crazy:
Does anybody know what could be wrong and, more importantly, how to remedy the problem? For some reason I don't think it will work just to wait around and hope that it goes away...
I would really appreciate any help offered.

Okay, the certificate thing is fixed, however the cookie thing remains.
Well, at least I can look up my mail once more :D

If you don't use firewall, I suspect someone has managed to put spyware (is that the right word?) on your machine.


Have you tried using Spybot (admins - please remove link if not appropriate)?
It scans your machine and then tells you any problems it finds, then you can remove that problem.

Best of all, it's FREE!

I use Ad-Aware, it does the same thing, doesn't it?

UPDATE: Okay, it seems all my problems have been dealt with, except that I still can't use the shoutbox :blink:

Do you mean that SpyBot was more helpful than Ad-Aware?

I don't know, actually. I used Ad-Aware before I used spybot, and I used the shoutbox to check effect (which still doesn't work, btw) so I have no idea when the other things started working again. For all I know it could be related to the year thingey.

What browser do you use?
