In case you haven't heard James Doohan - better known as Startrek's Montgomery Scott has passed away.

Awwww! Well, it's good to know that he finally had his chance to be "beamed up" (you know...since he was always the one that had to beam everyone else...)

man thats actually sad news tho. damnation. bet shatners grinning it wasnt him first. bet he thinks he will outlive all of them.

LOL, I don't know if I should laugh at that, or cry.

Actually in an interview he said he never minded that people ALWAYS said "Beam me up Scotty" every time they saw him..so I guess it's an appropriate farewell.

It's sad but he made it to a good age. 85 is nothing to be ashamed about. I hope he keeps flying up there and I know I'll keep watching his work over and over again. He will be missed and surely not forgotten.

I think he had a good life. He last child was born 5 years ago. So he was doing alright.
I hope one day soon they will find a cure for alzheimers (sp?). Terrible way to go.

He wasn't a friend with Bill, but I doubt they hated each other.
Oh man years pass so quickly.
