Have a slight problem. Try to save a character and I get ERROR-CANNOT LOCATE DDK DIRECTORY. Any ideas? Tried running it under XP and DOS Box.


Nevermind, just figured it out.

Be careful when importing a character from Champions, as he will lose stuff.

If you want to import directly from Champions to DQK, here's how:

Make sure your person is max level, and remove the character from the party. Change it's name to import. Now, change the .stf to .jnk, and the .who to .pc . Now, move these files into the DKK save folder, but do not start DKK up. Instead, go straight to DQK and load him up, he may not work right, but his stuff is there....
This is the only way to get a periapt of Proof vs. Poison in DQK.


Money is not important in this game, but keep all the stuff from battles if you are near gargath. Just ID it and toss it in the bank. This game is a monty-haul and you will be surrounded by magical items, like shortswords +4 and shortbows +3 etc... Here is a tip if you haven't figured it out already: have all clerics only have 1 cure light wounds (unless they are mishakal) and the rest be detect magic. If it's magic, keep it at the end of battle.

welp here i am dqk worked from the start, cok worked once my internet came back up with the fix on the forums, but DKK still wont work for me and this is the error i come up with
system cannot open com port 2

Hmm. Are you using dos-box? Run the install and don't choose joystick, or mouse. Choose only keyboard. You may not be able to use the install, but if you are running dos-box then I can send you a rar of the original disk, as this game is not ESA. That way you just unpackage it, mount it as a floppy and go.

But this game should work in windows.

Then you should get DOSBox - Win2K has some compatibility issues (can be dealt with, but it can be very complicated).

Well I tried all the ways to get my characters from Champs to DeathKnights, nuthin' works, plz help!! I finishe champs and just want to move my characters to deathnights cause i spent so much time on them.
