Earth 2140 Doesn't run on my pc...!

Tech-Specs.

-AMD Athlon pro XP 3600 (processor)
-Nvidea Ge-Force 5600 (Video)
-Trust 5.1 Optical Surround Dual Chip edition (sound)
-Windows XP Home + SP 2
-52x CD-Rom Drive
-16x DVD-rom Drive

Problem...
The game doesn't work... I get as far as installing the game, configuring sound, set video mode etc. When i try to run the game it says either "cannot locate cd, insert (game cd) in drive (cdrom)" or "Cannot load Fonts.ws error"

I tried DosBox and VDM sound... Vdm sound booked No results at all
Dosbox can't change the video mode to 640x480 in 16 bit mode (VESA or SVGA Support error or something)

Anyway, The game doesn't work... I know it's ancient but it's a reeeallly cool RTS...

Please help my desperate buttocks...

EDIT: The "Cannot load Fonts.ws error" only seems to occur after i try the cd-rip tactic... (eg. copy the entire cd contents to the root and alter the Game.ini file)
Also worth mentioning, i have two original versions of this game and even with both CD-drives filled it still says that i should insert the game cd...

Make an ISO image of the CD, then use something like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to use the image to emulate a CD drive. Try from there.

Did that, and works... But i stilll get the Fonts.ws error... It loads as much as Sound, Video (dosbox gave an error here), Settings, Mouse and BLAM... The error...

Maybe winxp doesn't support home-fonts.... or just plain sucks anyway....

Any suggestions / hints please post them because i'm getting desperate...

Try reinstalling.

It is possible that you have a broken copy.

i bought myself a rather old pc with the following specs

PII 200mhz
Awe64 soundcard (god knows what type)
64 mb ram
windows ME

The game RUNS!!! but again without sound... strange thing is that thew setup detects the soundcard and passes the "test soundcard" test flawless but as soon as i run the game the bastard crashes becase it could not detect the $#% soundcard...

What the heck is that and how do i get rid of it...

Please advise...

PS. Music works fine for some odd reason

Windows 98. DirectX 8.1 or higher. See if these help.

If sound seems to be the problem, I'd try VDMSound...

Is this game even abandonware?

Does it matter?

It would if he was asking for a crack or a ripped version.
