Hey!

I bought the a sealed fallout double pack via e-bay... haven't played it much.. an hour or two. Which was only fallout.. number 2 is still cased up. Im confused as of what to do. I am supposed to just explore I take it? Travelling anywhere is really dangerous as if I am jumped I usually die. I managed to make it to the other vault as well as the raider camp and a skeleton town. Should I just carry on looking around? :help:

Thanks for any help

nma-fallout.com is a great site

havea look at some walk throughs to get the basic idea.

i found the plot of the original fallout very confusing and never got far. fallout 2 was far easier and more engrossing *goes to reload and play*

Check that site, it's da best, add a "2" on the "fallout" bit to get the best Fallout 2 guide around.

On the way to Vault 15, you pass a town call Shady Sands, you can find a few quests around there and some free rope lying around the farm building which you can use on the life in Vault 15 so you can get down there and loot it (there's some seriously good stuff there, ammo, a hunting rifle, a few pistols and an SMG).

BTW, some character making tips, on FO 1, don't bother with Charisma, make it "1", on both games, Endurance is a bit crap, make it 4 n most characters. Luck may seem crap but it becomes very important at the end of the game (considering you are a gunner, you reach level 18 ot get sniper, and reach level 18 (no mean feat on FO1).

hope you will become too a fallout fan

anyways, the first thing to do is head to vault 15,during this trip go to shady sands(on the way, cant miss it)after searching the vault 15 the way is up to you(hint-think you should head to junktown then-or for hardcore you can go immeadiately to necropolis :D )
if you have problems to find a way,ask some people in shady sands

hope ure not confused now

Also get the max for the one that gives you time units in the battle (forget which is it now). I find myself always increasing it to the max before changing any other stats.
Unfortunately you cannot increase it after you have started a character/new game as far as I know.

There are events that can happen in the game that change your stats, plus you can get a perk to add 1 a stat. Lots of AP are pretty cool (raise agility for them).

I just started playing Fallout 2 and I must say it so far has been much better. I'll relaunch Fallout one next time I go to play either of them and look for shady sands.

Thanks for the help

A tip: Upgrade your luck.
You won't believe how much critical damage can help you, especially if your luck is 10 and you get a critical nearly every time.

10 luck would give you about a 10-20% critical chance. The way to get very high critical hit rates with guns is to get the sniper perk and have high luck (at level 24 on FO2, and 18 on FO1), there's also the slayer perk, which only works for melee weapons/unarmed attacks but doesn't involve a luck roll. These are the skills which let to take on Enclave Patrols and Master's Army Reminants with confidence.
