howd people, just wanting to no if there is anyone from australia with broadband who may be able to help a guy with dialup out? As waiting 4 hours to download Amulets and armour is going to suck (but im still trying anyway LOL) :Titan:
Im an aussie with dial-up, and I say tough it out like the rest of us :D
Ditto
Another Aussie with dial-up. Broadband is still too expensive here, I think; for me, anyway, as I'm out in the country where internet is more pricey.
You guys in the outback have my sympathies.
Dialup is so last century... It's better then nothing though I guess. |
It's very this century over here. *g* Many people still don't have an internet connection. Big Pond have introduced a new wireless option (and that's available Australia-wide) but it costs around $45.00 per month and you can only download and upload up to a gig over that time. I'd need serious gigage. :)
And in the rural areas they keep trying to trick people with "unlimited downloads" broadband plans, which in fact have 500MB limits, after which the speed drops to 65kbps.
And even those things are up to like $35 per month! |
I feel sorry for you. In Romania, my ISP's minimum speed is 256 kb/s (I pay for it 9$). There is a limit of 4 GB, but, since I'm already at the minimum speed, this doesn't affect me. :) I also used dial-up a year ago. It was horrible.
I pay 40 Euros a month for a 256 kbps connection(not kb/s!) but i have no limit :D
For one extra euro i have my own IP :D |
Wow, I thought that broadband from the UK sucked... I get 1mb with no download limit for 23 quid a month, but I only got that recently.
I used to have 512kb with no download limit for ?27 a month. Still, nothing on Scandinavia/the USA's quality and cheap price. |
