did anyone ever make some steps to scripting the MS Operating Systems ?
I have a specific folder that needs to be made a hotfolder for some tasks (e.g. resizing the images, sending them via email, etc.) with my MAC I can simply use AppleScript (which I a quite a semipro in) and someone just told me there could be something like it in XP or 2000, too. I do NOT mean batch procession with the CommandShell. any help ? |
i think this is what M$ invented VBScript fpr. I haven't tried anything in it though... the MSDN has a rather in-depth page on it.

yes, vbs files are what you're looking for.
They're also great for completely destroying windows computers, in less than 10 lines of code. It only takes 4 lines to shut down or restart your computer, and only 5 to format a drive :P |

As for scripting, let's not forget Perl. |
they were planning a scipting option in Vista/Longhorn, but this will now only be on the server version due to secutiry reasons, although the servers will still be at risk. They might have removed it from there too.

Maybe so, but after you write the code and save it to a .vbs file, it only takes a double-clcik to execute it :w00t: |
