When loading Windows XP, my other computer now hangs before it gets to the user screen. In Safe mode, it always hangs after it tries to load d347bus.sys. If I skip loading this file I can load in Safe Mode.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

It's a Daemon Tool driver.

More info here and here.

Well, that dosen't seem to have got XP back up. It still halts at the screen where its loading up. I removed the offending driver and put it somewhere else (a different drive) but it still hangs. Glad I have 2 PCs.

EDIT: My dad has put it down to something in the Normal XP loading process. Since safe mode works, we think that its trying to load something it cant.

try running msconfig, uncheck all things on run, restart, if works then check one box, if that works check next... =)

Alternativley check the registry.

in
Code:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
there are 3 keys:
Run
RunOnce
RunOnceEx

That might contain some stuff that's trying to start up.

he will probably want to unchcek them back, it is more comfortable then restore backups...

Well, my dad seems to have managed to fix it.
Apparently, it stopped when it tried to install or look for something or other that didn't exist. Anyway, after much messing around, it loads.
