Sorry for this noob question, but im using DOSBox and trying to run Albion on it. I've installed the game just fine, but when I go to run it I'm left with some text telling me to insert the actual cd... now since i downloaded the game from Abandonia (great site) I dont have the cd, what do I do?

Are you sure you mounted the CD with the -t suffix?

Hardcorenooblet 31-12-2005 05:04 PM

Well yeah, I did that, I'm just not sure how to use that mount to trick it into thinking I've got a cd in. All i did was: mount d d:\ -t cdrom. Then after that I mounted my C drive and located the game's .exe, I try to run it and it tells me to insert the CD. I KNOW I'm doing somthing wrong here...

have you tried typing d:\ just to be sure, you typed that command right?
maybe you have got wrong dosbox, you know

hardcorenooblet 31-12-2005 05:24 PM

So basically what your saying is that I should type D:\ after I get the message to insert a CD?

_r.u.s.s. 31-12-2005 05:28 PM

youshoul type it after you mount d as d

I don't exactly understand... I'm sorry, I'm still pretty new to DOSBox. Is there anyone that can give me a step-by-step of how to run Albion and trick it to thinking that the CD is in there after it tells me to insert CD?

I missed the part in which you said that you don't exactly have the CD.

In fact, if you look in the folder of Albion the archive created for you when you unarchived it, you'll notice that there is a directory named "CD". You need to mount that directory in drive D: to make the game works.

Happy playing. :ok:

Okay, this is what I tried to do (I obviously failed btw...)
z:\>mount d d:\c:\oldgames\albion\cd
and yep... It didn't work.

Eagle of Fire 31-12-2005 08:18 PM

I think it should be more in the like of:

Code:

z:\>mount c c:
z:\>mount d c:\oldgames\albion\cd
z:\>c:
c:\>cd oldgames
c:\oldgames\>cd albion
c:\oldgames\albion\>albion.bat

Tell me if it work better this way. :)
