...what's that stuff with just deleting topics for no apparent reason? Yes, I AM referring to the topic I opened last night and which miracolously vanished in the meantime without someone even dropping me a PM about the reasons. Since I wasn't violating any boards-rules, I would be MORE than interested in who did it and even more WHY... :not_ok:

Data 11-02-2006 02:52 PM

why should they have to tell you that.
Grow up. This isn't a democracy.

:) :)

Tulac 11-02-2006 02:56 PM

What was the topic about anyway?

Lonely Vazdru 11-02-2006 02:57 PM

@ Chuck : What was that topic about ? I don't remember seeing it last night.

@ Data : It's hard to grow up when you get blamed or punished without any explaination. It might actually end-up bringing the opposite of the "growing up" effect intented.

There's a difference between "no democracy" and "tyranny". As I said, there are rules here (of which I didn't violate any with my topic), which apply to ALL users AND mods AND admins, or they would be completely useless. The only person on this board who wouldn't need to justify his actions is Kosta, since he owns the place. And somehow I doubt it was him who deleted that topic.

@ Lonely Vazdru: It was a link to a rather interesting book for all fans of "Pirates! (Gold)"...

Some of my topics in the Compatibility forums and the Technical Help or whatever it is have been deleted, I didn't get a explanaton either.

I doubt that qualifies in your situation tho' as there was a reason to delete topics in the aforementioned forums, for cluttering reasons.
But I definitely think you deserve an actual reason for why your topic was deleted. Considering Data's response, it seems that not all admins and mods here are free of corruption. :bleh:

Well, were it tirany you'd probably be banned already just for complaining (and three different rugby teams would show up on your door wanting to practice their hopping in place on your face).

Are you sure the topic was deleted? I know some topics have dissapeared in the past (my last topic that disapeared was the "old" Some Statistics thread - and there were quite a few replys in it as well - and there was no reason for it to happen). Maybe there was just some fluke. Some random thing why your post vanished.

If it would be breaking any rules you'd probably be notified and warned.

That's what I was complaining about.

But since you say this kinda thing happened already with topics just vanishing without actually being deleted, I'll take your word for it. I didn't know about that.
This topic can be closed then (and deleted, if anyone feels like it LOL )...

EDIT (just to make things clear): I didn't want to imply the mods around here would actually go around and close topics just for the heck of it. In fact I was surprised when I found that topic missing and was really wondering who would actually do a thing like that...

Maikel 11-02-2006 05:48 PM

(off-topic)Well, maybe ask it more politely next time. I mean, you seem pretty upset for having a post deleted. it's just an internet forum ;)

Grinder 11-02-2006 06:16 PM

[asking_politely_mode]Do you sometimes delete posts? I remember my posts beeing deleted two or three times in the past. What was that about? [/asking_politely_mode]
