Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has had the following error message when playing
XCOM Terror From the Deep.

"16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
Teh NTVDM cpu has encountered an illegal instruction.
cs:000 IP:0075 OP:f0 00 f0 37 05
choose 'close' te terminate the application"

I'm running a Dell 2GHz without dosbox. TFTD was downloaded from this site.

The message only appears durring terror missions so far, but they are at random. {Save, play a couple turns, crash, restart from save, take different actions with my chars, crash}

The only work around I have so far is to use the debug command Ctrl-C to bypass the mission {ie. not much of a work around}

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update:
I tried to load with dosbox {I followed the tutorial to the lettel} but as soon as I typed you olde 'terror{.exe} command dosbox locked up. Then when I tried to shut it down with xp task manager, the task manager locked up! it stayed like this for around 5 min until the 'program not responding end task' window came up.
Any clue to this new devolopment?

The sound is working sound (sorry for the pun)?
For I remember that Ufo: Enemy Unknown made some bugs when the sound driver was not installed correctly (at least, for me).

edit
I would really recommend DOSBox.
Follow these steps:

(It can be convenient to rename the folder called 'X-Com - Terror From The Deep' to 'tftd'.)
1. open dosbox
2. type: mount c: c:\.... (where the folder TFTD is located)
3. type: c:
(check: press dir to see if there is a folder called tftd)
4. type: cd tftd
5. type: terrorcd.bat
If problems occur run install and set up your soundcard.
Let me know if problems persist!

Sorry It took a while getting back to you. So I tried it and no such lick. I'm wondering if it had to do with the fact that i'm using terror'CD'.bat. Do I then have to configure it to run as if from cd? if/then how to I set this up?
BTW it is installed. What can dosbox emulate {plus irqs etc if you know them}

DOSBox emulate a lot of sound cards, but you can't go wrong if you go with Soundblaster and default settings. I always make the game autodetect, it usually work great.
