Ever play a great game where the story has massive gaps or just ends? For me, the Descent: Freespace series left me on one of the biggest cliffhangers of all time.
What about old games that didnt have much of a story to begin with? I'd like to see someone revisit Target Earth for the Genesis. Oh and Halo 2, that ending bugs me just because I dont think the developers intended that when they started with the game, also the end feels more like a marketing ploy than a story-writing technique.

Bleh, I think Halo 2 and 3 were originally a full game, but they thought "Hey, if we cut this game in half and sell the third part for the 360 (with slightly enhancend graphics) a huge load of people will buy the 360, that's genius!"

And I was really, really disappointed by the ending of Half-Life 2. I hoped for jumping through the portal and getting to see a bit of the alien dimension, but nooo, I just get a "The End" right into the face.

Hmmm, can't think of any other games that really disappointed me right now, but there sure were a lot, especially the newer games.

Star Control 3. Get halfway through the game and discover you have to re-start because of a long standing bug in the game. Arrgh. Then when you do it right and actually get to the end it kills you! Aarrrrrggghh!

That and Tron 2.0. It wasn't a bad ending, but there were things that it was just like... meh. Plus, if you do everything right and upgrade yourself to Alan 10.1, nuthing for your trouble.

No one remembers a lot of the old shoot em ups where you would reach the end, kill the big bad boss (if you are lucky and there is one) and then have to repeat the whole war from day 1?

How about every game for the Atari? Your only way of knowing that you won is that (1) you're back at level 1 and (2) the enemies may be harder.

But that has little to do with unresolved plot holes.

I was disappointed with the ending of Syberia 2.

I loved the game. It had a brilliant story. And then it just ended.
I have lots of unansered questions for that game.

Depends how you see it.

Arx Fatalis - where do the snake ladies go after you give the both artefacts to the princess insetad of them? is there another level in that underworld city?

What about thet town that is supposed to be on the other side of the planet? you can't get to it, cause if you open the big door you freeze to death (even with cold resist spell  ).

Some games just leave too many things open, too many questions unaswered...

Half Life 2 was horrible for that. A game that brought up many, many questions and answered none of the ones left behind from the first in the series.

Here's a more recent one: Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. It's been a while since I played, but if i remember correctly you end up beating the big bad demon, and it seems like the story might go on...then credits. :hairpull:
I never played the expansion, so maybe they ended the story.
