I don't remember where I found this game, but my bro and I played a shareware version of it back in the mid to early 90s.

I seem to recall it was called Mercs, or maybe that was a subtitle, I don't know.

- You could play 2-player co-op mode
- It was a colorful, top-down game
- Would fit into the strategy/adventure/rpg genre
- Was a sci-fi

I believe you started out on a space ship that had plenty of mercs for hire, like 20 or so, each with their own bio and stats. You picked the ones you wanted and hired them, then debarked to the main land for the mission or whatever.

I don't remember much more than that, although I can visualize it pretty vividly. The mercs wore suits of all different colors which is how you could tell them apart. The first mission had you busting up some kind of tavern or something, and there was a broken down vehicle outside it that I think you had to try and repair so you could use it... I don't recall exactly.

I know this is all vague, but we've been looking for this for a long time, to no avail. I don't see it on this site, and I've tried searching for just about every combination of keywords I could to find this game, but no luck. It seems like it was never very popular, but I'd love to find out at least the title, see some screenshots, whatever.

Any help is appreciated.
