I played this on my Speccy - great game
The review is wrong to suggest you pilot the Starglider - thats the command ship of the enemy which you need to destroy with missiles (which you collect from the silo's - the rotating wedge-shaped objects). The 128k Spectrum version had synthesised speech from your on-board computer as well.
