Ah sorry.
You should have been given the option to name the folder before it was created I think, I get that sometimes with local folders, when the window contents don't update in real time for some reason--a bug in the Windows Explorer I guess, not related to FTP.
The bit about not having permission to rename is as intended, somewhat primitive but that's how it works.
