That's an old wink from System Shock 1. Hard to explain, kind of an in-game joke from the programmers, about gaming. But lots of fun (and frustration) to play. There're also some more game modules to find later.

I tried the resolution modes from Video of SS2
640x480x32
720x480x32
720x576x32
800x600x32
1024x768x32
1152x480x32
1280x720x32 /16:9
1880x768x32 /15:9
1280x960x32
1280x1024x32
1360x1024x32 /16:9
No result. But this is no fatal.
I find the bold mode is the best for me.
