I am trying to find an old space game

Details:
-Played it in the 90s
-View was top down
-Gameplay was simulation, colonization, and had space combat.
-Had a wide range of sounds played from the soundcard.
-When you started the game, a british kid thanked you for playing and asked for a donation.
-Games usually went something like: you mine a planet dry, return to home planet, rinse repeat. Colonize planets after mining. They develop on their own. Upgrade ships shields, buy many different bombs.
-Map was split into 4 quadrants, hard mode made transferring quadrants damaging.
