Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey is MUCH better than the Excellent Adventure. It's funnier, better written, better acted and with better effects. What more can you ask for?
On a related Jim Henson note, I'd also like to mention the Muppets movies, particularly Muppets From Space and A Muppet Christmas Carol. Genius.
