![]() how do i do it guys? I'm lost. i have a dial up connection with 28.8 bps. I've tried a couple ways but there isn't apparently any way to connect to a game other than dialing a certain number. :help: :help:

![]() And what exactly were you expecting?
Let me explain; back in the days of the older games, Internet was not even known. There was a kind of "internet" back then called BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) which primary goal was to rely electronic mails from a serie of BBS which were all local, cutting down the long distance calls. Yeah... Those were sure the days. Anyways, so those old games can't have compatibility with Internet unless they been made after the Internet became popular. This mean that the only way you could play "multiplayer" was one against one, one computer using it's dial up (other modems were quasi inexistant) to call up another computer on dial up which was "answering" the call and then connected both computers together in the game via the telephone line. So, if you wish to play that particular game you are talking about you need a dial up modem and another person with dial up and call it after he setted his game to "answer" to your call. Pretty complicated isn't? That's the good old days for me... |

![]() Yes but even so it can be a pain. Someone might just call at the wrong time and he will get answered instead of you, and he'll hear a lot of very loud noise in his telephone...
Or it might not work altogether because of the line noise... Or your game could refuse to find your dial up modem and it is not in his list so you need to check one by one if one in the list is compatible with yours... Hours of fun! |
