Default The Gangster List

After watching loads of epic masterpieces like The Godfather, Scarface, The Road to Perdition, etc. I became obsessed with the pre 1950s era. So, I always liked to play games which would feature the well-known illusion of freedom, power and... coke? Either way, I found that there are people like me on the 'Other Side' as well, people who also watched those movies, and, in a mad twist thought it would be fun to make videogames about those silk-suited dragon-chasing gentlemen. To get to the point, let me tell you tonight I wanted to play something. Something with Chicago Typewriters (in metaphorical sense), hats, and weird Italian accents. I didn't know which game should I chose from the many. Should I play Mafia, or GTA? What about Grim Fandango? After coming to the conclusion that the best solution would be playing all of them, I wanted to write a list of my favourite gangster themed games including the ones I haven't played yet but I'm looking forward to. Here it is:
Code:
Mafia *
GTA: Vice City *
Max Payne *
Max Payne 2 - The Fall of Max Payne *
Grim Fandango *
Clou 2 - The Sting! *
Discworld Noir
Hitman - Codename 47 *
Hitman 2 *
XIII *
Kingpin
GTA III *
Made Man: Confessions of the family blood.
El Matador
Reservoir Dogs
Godfather
Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico
Scarface: The World is Yours
The reason I submitted this list is that I would like to expand it. I'm asking you all to submit your lists or recommend a game like any of the above, except the ones after 2003 or 2004, since my machine is quite old now (Godfather, Scarface and Mafia 2 are out of bounds).

P.S.: 1. I DO know that the GTA and Max Payne games are about the modern era. 2. Stars behind the names of some games indicate I've played them.

Ok, from the ones I've already played I must mention Made Man: Confessions of the Family Blood, a terribly bland game if you want to know. It isn't totally bad, but it has no merits compared to other titles in the same genre. Mostly forgettable, but hey, it has a Vietnam mission besides the regular gangster ones. I think Scarface has one too, but I may be mistaken.

El Matador has plenty of shooting in drug cartel members. It is more similar to Hitman, since it is mission-based, but pales in comparison. The story is forgettable, but it's not the main focus here.

Ok, another 2006 average game is Reservoir Dogs. Well the idea was good. It does capture some of the feeling from the movie, but the result disappoints. Also, it had some insane blur when I played it - it always pissed me off.

Godfather is better that these three. I liked intimidating and extorting shop owners, and win the city gradually, region by region.

Two games that I've played only a bit and never finished are Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico and Scarface: The World is Yours. I'd vouch especially for Total Overdose between these two.

Thank you for the suggestions, TA I'll definitely try them when I'll have a chance. I add those to my list.
