What do you think about new games? Do you like them? Do you like them more than old ones?

I'm playing Half-Life 2 currently and it is brilliant but some games (like UFO: Enemy Unknown) are just timeless and will be fun in years to come.

The most recent game I have played was Rome: Total War but my computer is not fast enough to make it run well. Max Payne 2 played fantastically but it is not as recent. I am not one of those people who say all recent games are bad. I always follow the most recent development and with my new computer on the way I will also be able to actually play those games well.

Well I'm looking forward to Pirates! as well, but I doubt it will be that much fun. I remember what they did to Defender of the Crown. I still like the new version (it's very playable and some things are improved), but outside the up to date graphics and sounds it's all the same really - so why make it again? Just so it'd look nicer?
It's like remaking old classical movies. Use the theme and make something new with it if you like - use the theme and make a sequel (even after al these years) - but don't just make the same thing using new techniques (that's my opinion at least). |
