![]() Hi Guys,
I don't think there are many cricket fans here anyways do you think 20 over cricket is the future of oneday cricket. Also state a reason for your choice if you can? Australia lost really badly to England in 20 20 over cricket yesterday!! |

20/20 oneday cricket * Each team gets 20 overs to bat, an over=6 balls, which means each team has to tryt and score a good score out of the 120 balls they are facing. * There is a toss at the beggining of the game where the captain who wins gets the chance to decide bat or ball. * So when you are batting if you hit the ball over boundary line you get six runs, if you hit the ball along the ground over the boundary line you score four runs, then the other ways to score runs is hit the ball and if it doesn't go along or over the rope you can run. If you run 1 you get 1 if you run 2 you get 2 so on. Maximum number of times you can run is 4. *Here is how you go out, - If you hit the ball in the air and if you get caught!! - If you run and then if someone throws the ball at the stumps and if it succeds. - If you run to the crease before they throw the ball at the stumps you are safe. - if you try to hit the ball and then miss and the ball hits the stumps. I would continue the rules if someother person wants it!! |

![]() so 20 20 as opposed to 50 50 is minus 180 balls or 360 in total. I think its probably a good idea but I've never watched a cricket match. I tend to steer clear of long drawn out games, cause my attention span is like a 3 year olds, that's why I like only hockey mostly.

![]() I actually thought that the 20/20 referred to eyesight.
But please continue explaining the rules. I've always wondered how to play cricket. I have a few questions about the rules you've already posted, though: 1) Why are 20 overs more entertaining than 50 overs? Is it because the game drags out for too long otherwise? And why do you call it oneday cricket, do some cricket matches last more than a day? 2) What's a run? Is it like a point? 3) What's the rope you're referring to? Is it the same thing as the boundary on the diagram? 4) What are the sticks in the ground for, and why are there three of them? I've always wanted to know that. I hope I don't come off as a complete moron, but I've never seen a cricket match, and I don't believe it's played anywhere around here, if it's played in Denmark at all. |
