I'm just wondering if any of you have managed to repair a water damaged GBA(SP).
I've been given it by a friend, but he'd put it through the washing machine.
The screen flashes briefly when you turn the power on, but nothing after that. Anyone ever had this before?

(P.S. I did tell him not to turn it on till it had dried out, but he didn't listen)

Not entirely sure what a Gba is, but assuming it's a part of a computer, yes I did. Either I thrown it out of the window, smashed it against a wall, kicked or burned it, I must have broke at least one of those.

That was a mistake, he should have left it for a couple of days off.

Anything electronic can become wet without too much problems providing you leave it off. Let is dry for a week or two and then you can simply power it up again.
The problem you have is that this GBA has been turned back on when it was still wet and it short-circuited. It is now permanently damaged and most likely is not worth repairing (a new set is cheaper).

Use GBA forum such as GBATemp for this kind of questions. (there is no rom downloads owerthere, and it can lead only to ban if you ask about such things)

I post there from time to time under the same nick (only I have 2 stars in the front and end of nick.

I've not open yet my GBA.

@lethe - GBA is Game Boy Advanced, which is much more powerfull then GB.

And GBA-SP is even better. AFAIK similar to a low-end x86...

GBA SP is really powerfull.

Last couple of days when I got spare minut, I play Advanced Wars (recomend this to all strategy funs, this game remainds me of BI, but much better and more advnaced gameplay).



Also Castelvania Cyrcle of the Moon is great game.



And yet the best of all platformers, Metroid - Zero Mission.




IMO GBA is what amiga would become if company did not close in 1995.

Castlevania: Circle of the moon is fun - BUT Aria of Sorrow is much, much better IMHO.

If I had the money I doubt I would go for it though. I would go for a PSP. Not that I like SONY or anything, but that little PSP looks soooo sweet. I don't know if there are any strategy titles for it yet and I doubt it will get the number of titles that the GBA+ has but still...
