Ok in case you havn't heard of last.fm (formerly known as audioscrobbler), it is a service which allows you to keep track of all the music you listen to and allows you to view charts and statistics of your musical taste. It is also useful in checking out detail about bands you like and how popular they are.

Another great thing is that you can create groups that share a common interest, and these groups have their own charts and statistics. This is what I've decided to do after using last.fm for a while, and discussing it a little in this thread over at the music forum.

The way last.fm works is that you sign up and download a plugin for your favourite music player (virtually all the popular ones are supported), and keep playing your music like normal, and the site builds up a profile of your musical taste. It can recommend you artists based on what you listen to, as well as other people who share similar tastes. You can take a look at my profile to get an idea on how things look.

Another great feature is the radio. Basically you can tune into the Abandonia radio station and it plays songs that the other people in the group listen to, so it is a great way of finding out what your fellow Abandonians listen to.

So yeah there are plenty of things you can do, and its a really cool way to find out new music and interact with people who share similar tastes. Oh and its completely free! You can become a subscriber which gives you more features, but the free version has done me fine

You can also create forum signatures that are like mine which show people what you have just been listening to, which I reckon is pretty cool.

Oh and I hope the mods don't mind this being in this forum. I figured this would receive more traffic than the music one. It can be moved to the Announcements forum or whatever if needed.

Did you download the plugin for whichever program you use to listen to music? If you have it it should work

yeah i did...i entered the password..and then went to that RPI generator and entered my username and clicked on generate..
