Hi. I thought Settlers 2 GE wasn't going to be buggy until I tried playing it. It loaded up all right in DosBox, but whenever I try to play any one of the campaigns, the game shuts down (DosBox lists a gateway error of some such).

Can anybody help me out on this? I'm running my games on a P4 2GHz, 512Mb RAM, 40Gb HDD, RivaTNT2 32Mb RAM using Win98SE. Most of the Windows retro games I run can be solved by downgrading the DirectX, but S2GE is so far the only Dos-based game I've been unable to play.

You shouldn't need DOSBox with Win98SE IIRC, although I may have had the Windows version of S2. If it's the thing about the COM2 port you should be able to ignore it - S2 had support for 2 mice in co-operative splitscreen - I used to play that with my sister sometimes, with an extra mouse attached to the LPT1 port with an adapter. *nostalgic sigh*
