I just don't understand why someone will look at the way they dress and make automatic assumptions, without even listening to the music, it really *meep*s me off, which DOES make me defensive. When you actually listen to some of their tracks you can say what you like, and more power to ya, but until then you're just making (incorrect) assumptions.

Japanese music is very different from that in the west, look at any number of japanese rock bands - nintey percent of them dress in strange clothes, this isn't an unusual thing. Yet you jump on it as soon as I mention it, and now some **** is making my phone ring and I'm gonna tear his *dirty word* legs off.

I just saw a discusion about the japanese rock bands looks and decided to reply somethin. If I would've heard some songs of this group Malice Mizer, I would've made a post about their songs. Jeeeez... :whistle:

Malize, did I say ANYTHING about their music? No. I was just commenting on their rather ridicolous appearance. And about your "it's about the music, not the image"-rant: Ok, you've edited your initial post LATER, but till my comment it did indeed not involve much statements about their music at all, rather links to photos and "he looks soooo hot wearing women's clothing"-stuff, so better get your act together right away next time

Malice Mizer (the user, not the band), moderate your words. There's no need to swear to convey your message.

You can't expect everyone to share your tastes in music (I know for sure that few listens the same music I do), and cannot as well expect them to know what are the main features of this band, and jrock in general. Personally, I don't know anything about them, they could be as well horrible or awesome, but you have to admit that they have a rather femal-ish look, and the ordinary man doesn't know that "90% of Japanese rock bands wears in strange clothes" as you said. Therefore, the ordinary man's first reaction
is "Hey, they look perfectly gay!", which is quite a normal reaction, if you think about it. You should first try to provide some further informations and what their message is, and then eventually complain about the dumbness of whom hasn't understood your explanation. After all, you never said they aren't gay. And "gay" is not always to be intended as an insult. Sometimes it is, but not always. So, try to be more clear (and patient) before jumping to swears.
I promise I'll inform myself about this band, since you (and taikara, whose tastes are good) say they're good, I can't say they're bad before checking

Btw, thank you for helping us improve the word filter (c*nt wasn't being covered, and since this is a PG13 forum we got to control coarse language).

They aren't trying to tell you how much you should hate yourself, their musical lyrics are about love (le ciel, gardenia, nocturnal romance) sometimes they veer into gothic fantasy, at other times they're quite sad, for instance Syunikiss, which is about a girl the vocalist loves who dies and he hears her last words.

Don't look at their image and assume you know everything (or indeed anything) about them, you can't and you don't.

You misunderstood what I said. I only corrected the part where you said that the goal of music is to provoke a reaction by saying that only MTV-endorsed music does. Besides, your band is obviously dressing like that to provoke a reaction (unless they wear clothes like that all the time, and then I would wonder whether they were fruitcakes or not).
