It's the easest game in the world finished it in elite level for about 6 times!!! :not_ok: The only great thing in this game is the grafics!!!

I nearly cried when I *cough*acquired*cough* this game. The shareware version was the greatest game ever back when I got it. I simply loved the sounds, music, weapons, enemies... well everything. It really brings back memories of my old 486.

The screenshots looks good but the levels are monotonous. If you like top-down shooters for DOS try Tyrian 2000 with parallax-scrolling.
If you like side-scrolling shooters like the classics R-Type or Katakis try Stargunner (absolutely superb).

I like the graphics too but thers is more to like about this game. I love the wepon system and the fact that its a bit more that just line up and shoot.
But that just my opinion :whistle:

The weapon-system in Stargunner is very great too. You can buy different weapons, shields, satelites etc. like in Raptor.
But Stargunner has also cool smooth 3D-animations (rotating ships) and tripple parallax-scrolling.
Also in Tyrian your ship is upgradable and has tripple parallax-scrolling and a cool water-/lava-animation in some levels (waves,waterfalls).
Raptor has only a simple scrolling without such ship- and background-animations.

There's a side effect of using the "BACKSPACE" cheat code... because you will lose your score - it will be reset to zero.

Score is used to buy new weapons... though by pressing BACKSPACE a few times, you can make big money by selling your extra uber lasers once back in base... so it is actually no trouble at all. But if your target is to put your name in the high scores list, this cheat is only good for the first mission.

I remember my sisters played the game with a heavy battery on the BACKSPACE button...

Loved this game, another one I played lots and lots of the shareware version. Very satisfying buying those new guns.

Lovely game, this. I was fortunate enough to grab a copy of it from a discount bin (Lord knows how long that had been in there) for a single euro.
