![]() Another great one! Sorry don't mean to go overboard. Just loved the gameplay on these. Wonderful for their time! :brain:

![]() This is the only one I didn't really play. I had the C64 version but couldn't accept the graphics and sound after playing the IIgs version of Bard's Tale II. Unfortunately a IIgs version was never made... actually I think I heard one was made but never released. The Amiga version doesn't feel right. It has the best graphics, but for some reason it lacks diverse character portraits. If I remember correctly, the DOS version has the same problem, but the C64 version has unique portraits for each class. The generic portraits in the Amiga version just made the game feel cheap, although I heard it's really good. It would be cool if someone could mod these games to include the best of what each version had to offer.

![]() A chidhood friend of mine had Bards' Tale III for the Apple II+ and it worked just as well as the others---OK graphics, but since you just had the tiny little speaker (there were legends of a sound card for the Apple II but nobody had one) the sound was kind of lousy, though no worse than for any other game out at the time.
If you play all the different bard songs in this one, there's a little treat for all you Monty Python fans in there

![]() I had this for the C64 back in the day - played it for years until the old C64 went into storage. Could never get past these wizards in towers in the Gelidia place.

![]() Why is the link "buy it" and a link to BT1 (not even 3) and no way to download it?

Therefore, the games are still sold. This in turn means that by our site policy all downloads had to be replaced with buy-links. |
