VMES mean you choosed Mouse and Keyboard, english and PC Speaker. I thinks its best if you posted your problem exactly (what for error do you get, how do you start dosbox? etc) in Troubleshooting. Dosraider is also a PC-Tecnician-Expert. Besides This is a thread over Veil of Darkness and not over Abandoned Places.

Sal, you MUST create an empty \save\ folder, it isn't in the HotU abandoned places download, don't ask me why.
If your games folder is \ap\ your dir tree must be:

\ap\
\ap\data\
\ap\save\

If you don't have a \save\ folder your game freezes, it can't write the party info.

For those who are interested, I have finished amending the walkthrough, and sent it to SAL who kindly agreed to test it for me. When tested, I will offer it to Abandonia (via Luchsen).
I did test it myself, but it is always better if someone else also tests it.

I tried to attach the amended and expanded walkthrough for Veil of Darkness but it is 88.0kb and the upload facility says it is far too big. I do not want to break it up into 5 or 6 sections to upload it, so what now? Please advise.

The walkthrough has been checked by myself, I played the game again using it, and also by SAL. I recommend that you leave the original walkthrough on the Abandonia website as is, for those who want less detailed help, and load my amended and expanded walkthrough for those who want a more detailed (and corrected) walkthrough.

When we manage to get the walkthrough to you, you will see I indicated all additions and changes in blue type. However, you can change it to all black type if you think that would be best.

Please advise how to upload or send the walkthrough to you.

Thanks for your interest and offer to help. SAL has already checked it (I sent it to her several days ago).
I then asked Luchsen to advise re uploading (see previous post) seeing that he is an official uploader.
As soon as we get the file size sorted out, you will be able to access it.

I found it very easy to follow and logically and thoughtfully put together.Like "Armaeth " this is a game that sort of grows on one and I can see that one could go from the easy level to the harder level and find something new and exciting in the game..I have put this game in my file box because I know I will play it many more times...SAL

Thanks a stack for your feedback. Unfortunately, when I tackle a job, I try to make it as perfect as possible. I say "unfortunately, because it is very timeconsuming. Anyway, I think the expanded and amended walkthrough will help many games so it was worth it. As you said, it is a really good game, and I have also earmarked it to replay again at a later stage.
