Mine was Miracle Warriors: Seal Of The Dark Lord. On the old Sega Master System. Man I used to play that a lot. No idea what I was doing as I was 7but I still played it.

Not entirely sure but I'm pretty sure it was actually Space Quest I back when I was 6 years old. Earliest I remember anyway.

Default Astrosmash

The first video game I ever played was "Astrosmash" on the Intellivision game console.

Intellivision is not very well known it seems, but it was such a great console compared to the Atari! Controller had a 12 button keypad, 2 buttons on each side abd the directionnal "circle". ahhhh... good'ol days!

It turns out my first game had to be Tanx, as I recall shooting tanks on a bridge. I had to be 6-8 at that time (so 1987-89). My Dad asked his buddy to hook up a C64 to our TV set so I could play a bit.

The first video game I owned was one of the Soviet clones of Nintendo Game & Watch (Space Bridge, to be exact).

With the 1989 being turning point in my country's history, computers suddenly had easier way to reach peoples' homes. This means I could play on my buddies' C64s or Amigas.

And then in 1992 a PC arrived at my door...

Not to sure about what mine was but I think it was either Kid Chameleon or Sonic the Hedgehog, both on the Genesis (And before sonic drank 3D paint and went down the path of mental retardation... )

Red face analogists' nostalgias

My family had just moved to Australia ('84)... my father bought an Apple II which came with Lode Runner and Apple Panic. Soon I had Karateka, Prince of Persia, and Montezuma's Revenge. More than any game, my favourite software was a music-scoring program called Musicomp (still Apple II).

The next. . . machine (?) I got was a Sega with a keyboard. Hm, no Google matches. A rubbery keyboard? Greetings from .au, BTW. Great site, thanks all!

In the late '70s, I obtained a (used) console game called "Tanks" that hooked to a TV's antenna input.

The game screen was in black and white, and had tiny 2D military tanks (aerial view) that you could maneuver around and fire. Two players could battle each other, or one could play against the computer.

The computer AI was similar to that in Asteroids (tanks would move across the screen at intervals and fire randomly). The graphics were pretty lousy though (somewhat "snowy") and gameplay was a bit slow (lol, even for a tank).

Hmmm... I might still have that thing somewhere.

[wanders off muttering to himself]
