BT all the way. DC is a bad idea given it's weird implementation, bugs and generally bad cross-platform support (throw a stone if you really think that there is a decent linux client). Overall it looks very "childish" and it is overbloated. And yes, we, unfortunately, use it as a primary file-sharing software in our LAN, so I know what I'm talking about.
As for speeds. Well, folks, it depends on who's seeding, your connection and all the way between you and the person(s) transmitting to you. I'm a memeber of few private torrent trackers and I must say the speed is just amazing and often is only limited by the bandwidth limit of my ISP, for example 80-160 KBytes/s is a normal speed there. So what's the problem really? I'm all for Abandonia tracker and I'd love to test it. Heck I would just be there to seed.
