netWAR, 1997 by Learning Network & Semi Logic. This was an online only multiplayer game. This game was subscription based & the servers were only hosted by the game company, (like the game Netstorm). The company was charging too much for the subscriptions & not too many people bought the game. This resulted in the server service being discontinued after about a year & a half. Sadly, there was no client side server generation capability. This game was played from a bird's-eye perspective. You controlled one of 4 characters, each with a different weapon. Team-based, capture-the-flag & deathmatch-based maps. You could control vehicles & get power-ups through cities or jungles.
