I played Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego as a kid, though I really can't remember anything that it tried to teach me, geographically speaking. Back in the day I thought it was fun.

I remember most of the other games from after I graduated from high school.

I currently have my child playing many of the Super Solver games (Reader Rabbit is listed), because I KNOW they are helping him with his math and language skills.

A good game makes learning more fun. It keeps a child engaged, and sometimes they won't even realize they're learning. But the games are just a tool. They can't be depended upon to provide 100% of the learning experience to the child.
