They have 44 people (i think) who are below the poverty line in their village.
That must really suck.
There's like, 1000 other people all around who are comfortable or rich. And then there's the poor schmucks working at macdonalds and the manning the pumps at the petrol station.

Or maybe they're beggars and the whole village supports them with spare coppers and a the occasional £1 coin or rare £5 note..? for a cup of tea.

If I were mayor of this village, I would run the poor people out of town. That way, I would look better in the national census. But then - people might think it's a good place to live (hey, no poverty, right..?) and decide to move in.
That'd be bad...

Ok - so they keep a small number of poor people to ensure the village retains its size and character, I can understand that.

Anyway - think about how many people are there.
That is the perfect number and distribution to be able to contaminate the local water supply with a load of Ibogaine and a bucket of LSD and make sure it gets to *everyone* in the town.
Just think man, how awesome that'd be...

You could slip through the town, appearing secretly to each person/family to freak out the fairy-trippers at the height of their hallucinations and lead them to believe whatever you want!!!
A whole town to do your bidding!

I, personally, would brainwash them into believing they were a massive computer games development company and that they made games only for me.
And provided all my menial, dinner and *ahem* professional services. For free.
And tell them that it is fine for me shoot guns in the house and use the floor as an ashtray.

THEN we'd see some better games on the shelves, let me tell you me-lad-eo.
