About the pearls, and stuck boulders:

If a rolling boulder gets stuck rattling in one place in a hall, you can get it going again--try to back up and walk forward and hit it, repeating a few times if necessary. The boulder should appear to blink and then start rolling on its normal track again. There's a place in the underwater maze where a boulder can get stuck and block off access to a pearl--that was the reason I had trouble finding all eight, and is probably the reason for other people as well, since all pearls are just in chests around the maze and there's no special trick to any of them.
