Times change. So do labels. When AC/DC started, they were most definitely considered "Metal". Just like Deep Purple, Led Zep or Black Sabbath or many others.

Of course, but it seems ridiculous now, Metal is far different than it's baby days back in the late 70's and early 80's.
Deep Purple? Metal? That just sounds wrong.

Mostly listen to lots of Queensryche, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, saw Queensryche yesterday in concert. :Brain:

"Heavy metal" and "Hair metal" were never metal to be honest, just simple rock, so I'd put AC/DC under heavy metal.
